Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.

On December 21 at approximately 2:16 p.m., officers on patrol conducted a vehicle stop in the 400 block of North Broom Street.  Police made contact with the operator, 25-year-old Kamryn Matthews.  Following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and 42 grams of marijuana.  Police took Matthews into custody without incident.

Matthews was charged with the following offenses in addition to motor vehicle violations:

• Possession of a Firearm while also in Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of Marijuana
