Snow Emergency Has Been Terminated
On December 23, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. the Wayne County Commissioners declared a Level II Travel Watch (Essential Travel) Snow Emergency to be in effect in Wayne County, the City of Richmond and the Town of Centerville. This snow emergency declaration has been terminated, as of 3:00 P.M. on December 26, 2022.
The chief executive of Wayne County, Indiana does now find that the weather conditions and subsequent effects on travel in and through Wayne County have improved to such degree that hazards posed by the operation and parking of motor vehicles on county roadways has been reduced to allow persons to travel on county roadways.
The Level II Travel Watch (Essential Travel) Snow Emergency is terminated and that restrictions on the operation and parking of motor vehicles on Wayne County roadways are no longer in effect.

While roadways and streets aren’t completely clear and still have snow and ice in places, conditions have improved greatly in that the status of travel can return to “normal” for the county, City of Richmond, and Town of Centerville. As always, travel on roadways should reflect the current conditions and caution should be taken when driving in the winter months.
