On December 28, 2022, at approximately 1420 hours, the Middle Township Police, Rio Grande Fire Company and Inspira Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the 1600 block of Route 9 in the Whitesboro section of the township for a report of a vehicle into a house.  The driver of the vehicle, a fifty-four (54) old female of Whitesboro, was pronounced deceased at the scene, the final cause of death is pending an autopsy.  The incident was determined to be a single car accident.  The house had minor damage and nobody inside were injured.  Route 9 was closed in both directions between Main Street and Indian Trail Road for approximately 2 hours while the accident was investigated.  Also assisting with the investigation and road closure were the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Cape May County Fire Police and New Jersey Department of Transportation.
