Fairfield Police Arrest Man Wanted in October Armed Robbery and Shooting

On December 22, and following a two-month investigation, Fairfield Police officers took 32-year-old Juan Estrada Salgado of Fairfield into custody, without incident, during a traffic stop. Salgado was wanted in connection with an October shooting and armed robbery. At the time of the December 22 traffic stop, Salgado – who has ties to a local street gang - was the subject of an outstanding Ramey arrest warrant for one count of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of robbery, with a $100,000 bail.

Following the arrest, members of the Special Operations Team (SOT), assisted by the Community Action Team, served a search warrant at Salgado’s primary residence in the 1900 block of Grande Circle and his business in the 4000 block of Noonan.

A loaded “ghost gun” was in Salgado’s vehicle, a handgun was located at his residence, and multiple rounds of various calibers of ammunition were discovered at his business.

During the original October 23rd incident, Juan Estrada Salgado and two unidentified men approached a group at a cemetery located in the 1700 block of Union Avenue. Salgado and one of the men accompanying him fired several shots at the other group before fleeing in a car driven by Salgado.

Salgado later intentionally collided into another vehicle near Pear Tree Lane in Fairfield. Salgado’s two passengers then committed an armed robbery – taking the victim’s phone, wallet, and keys at gunpoint.

Salgado was booked at Solano County Jail for the stated charges.
