Chief LeRonne L. Armstrong will give an update on the homicide of a two-year-old child.
Background:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a homicide. On December 23rd, 2022, just before 2:30 AM, San Pablo Police Department notified OPD of a homicide of a two-year-old child.
Investigators from OPD’s Homicide Section responded to take over the investigation. The preliminary investigation shows the child’s death may have occurred in Oakland. However, the two-year-old child's body was located in a rural area of Napa County.
An individual connected to the child’s death was identified and arrested with the assistance of San Pablo PD. The circumstances associated with the child’s death are still under investigation.
