Another victim who was a passenger in the vehicle is a male teenager from Muskegon who fled on foot to a nearby home. He is being treated for a gunshot wound at an area hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspect in this incident is identified as a black male who was on foot when the shooting occurred. He was last seen jumping into a light-colored sedan that fled the scene. There has not been an arrest at this time.

UPDATE:
The deceased victim in the case is identified as 24-year-old Jamarr Tyrece Burse of the City of Muskegon. The second victim is in stable condition at the hospital and is a juvenile. The juvenile’s name will not be released at this time. We have no reason to believe that the public is in any immediate danger. Preliminary information indicates that the shooting was a targeted incident.
NSPD is asking for the community’s help with any information about the homicide that occurred in the area of Sunny Mart on Getty Street in the City of Norton Shores.
On December 29, 2022, at approximately 1:20 pm, officers from the Norton Shores Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 2900 block of Getty. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle in the middle of the intersection of Continental and Columbia. Officers found a male victim inside the car with a gunshot wound. Officers attempted CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
