After negotiating with the subject, he has surrendered to police on scene. Shelter in place for Piper Ln residents has been lifted. Police will be remaining on scene continuing the investigation

Summary of Incident:
On December 29, 2022 at 11:35am Fairfax Police received a call from a resident on Piper Lane, in Fairfax, that a neighbor was threatening her with a shotgun. Upon officer’s arrival, a man was observed holding what appeared to be a shotgun. The man retreated into his residence and refused to communicate with officers.
Mutual aid assistance was requested from other police agencies including crisis negotiators and a special response team to de-escalate the situation.
Nixle alerts were broadcast as well as an Alert Marin Notice using reverse 911 technology to advise residents of Piper Lane to shelter in place.
The incident is on going.
