Fairfield Police Nab Suspect in December 17 Cordelia Stabbing

Fairfield Police have arrested 24-year-old Kelly Najee Surrell of Sacramento for a stabbing that occurred in Cordelia earlier this month.

Surrell fled the area in his personal vehicle on December 17, after stabbing the victim. Investigators used evidence, including video and Surrell's vehicle information to narrow his location to the city of Sacramento.

The Fairfield Police Department's Special Operations Team's (SOT) work to find him in the week and half since paid off yesterday, December 29, as they conducted surveillance of a residence associated with the man.

At around 5 pm, members of the Special Operations Team tracked Surrell as he left the residence and proceeded to an area in downtown Sacramento. There, he was taken into custody without incident.

Surrell was transported back to Fairfield, where he was served with a criminal protective order, and booked at the Solano County Jail for Attempted Homicide.

Awesome job, SOT!
