* WHAT...Snow and freezing rain expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 1 inch and ice accumulations of a glaze to one tenth of an inch. Northeast winds gusting as high as 30 mph.
* WHERE...Matanuska Valley.
* WHEN...From 3 AM Sunday to midnight AKST Sunday night.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be hazardous.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light snow is expected to develop overnight Saturday night and quickly change to freezing rain by Sunday morning. Periods of light freezing rain are then likely through at least Sunday evening. There is quite a bit of uncertainty in the track of this storm, so exact timing and amount of precipitation could change. Temperatures may warm above freezing in the Palmer and Wasilla areas where the northeast winds are strongest. However, temperatures further south and west toward Meadow Lakes, Big Lake, and areas west of Knik Arm will remain below freezing.
