INCIDENT: Critical Missing Person Investigation
LOCATION: 56000 block of Twentynine Palms Hwy, Morongo Valley
VICTIM(S): Edgar Edge, 74-year-old, male resident of Morongo Valley
SUMMARY: On December 29, 2022, Deputy Cordova was dispatched to investigate a critical missing person in Morongo Valley, identified as Edgar Edge. Edge was last seen in his residence on December 28, 2022, at about 9:00 p.m., when he and his wife went to bed. At approximately 1:30 a.m., his wife awoke and could not find Edge in the residence or on the property. Edge had been diagnosed with medical conditions affecting his cognitive function.
Deputies started a search and rescue operation for Edge. Additional deputies and a Sheriff's tracking K9 unit responded and began searching for Edge. Several hours later, Edge was located on a property near his residence and had sustained minor injuries. Edge was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
