Update from Mayor Bhalla on COVID-19 (1/02)

Below is an update from Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla on COVID-19. 

COVID-19 clinic offered next week

The City and the Hudson Regional Health Commission will have a clinic at 605 Jackson St. from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3. The clinic will offer Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, J&J/Janssen, and Novavax COVID-19 vaccines and updated Pfizer and Moderna boosters to those eligible 6 months old and older.

Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins will be accepted. To book an appointment, go to www.hudsoncovidvax.org/.

There have been a total of 14,673 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and Hoboken has lost 70 residents since the pandemic began. 

Update from the Hoboken Health Department   

  • Cases are being investigated on a priority basis 18 years of age and under, at high risk, and over 65 years old    
  • Cases are associated with community widespread in camps, daycare, social gatherings, travel, and work      
  • Our regional Community Transmission level is currently High Risk     
  • The Hoboken Health Department notes there may be an increase of COVID-19 cases post-holiday and encourages residents who suspect they may have COVID-19 to test and monitor symptoms and isolate from others if positive. The following is the breakdown of recent positive COVID-19 cases by age group since the last update provided on Dec. 12, 2022: 

0-11: 11
12-19: 4
20-29: 30
30-39: 58
40-49: 29
50-59: 23
60-69: 17
70+: 24

Vaccination rate update 

Below is the vaccination rate for Hoboken according to the NJDOH:

All ages: > 90% (first dose)
12 and over: >90% (first dose)
18 and over: >90% (first dose)
30 and over: >90% (first dose)
65 and over: >90% (first dose)

All ages: 84% (second dose)
12 and over: 85% (second dose)
18 and over: 82% (second dose)
30 and over: >90% (second dose)
65 and over: >90% (second dose)

The State has not provided municipalities with booster numbers.
