Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Aggravated Assault Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect, who assaulted a victim and cut his hand with an object on January 1, 2023
Police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Lafayette Street. The victim was injured after confronting the suspect, who was attempting to harm another individual in the area. While defending himself, the victim suffered a laceration to his right hand from an object the suspect used during the fight.
The suspect, a Hispanic male, is described as 5’ 8” inches tall and in his 40s with a thin build. He was wearing a white T-shirt and a dark hat. The suspect fled on a black bicycle with a basket.
