DUI Checkpoint Results - One Arrested, 14 others cited

January 3, 2023

Santa Paula, Calif. – One juvenile was arrested and released on a citation for driving without a driver’s license and 14 adult drivers were cited for driver’s license related offenses during DUI checkpoint on December 30, 2022.

Saturday’s checkpoint was held at 500 W. Harvard Blvd near the intersection of Harvard Blvd and Laurie Ln from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Of the 328 vehicles that drove through the checkpoint, officers cited one juvenile for operating a vehicle unlicensed.

Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.

The Santa Paula Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe while traveling through our community, especially during the holiday season.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
