Flood Warning for Scotts Valley between Lakeport & Blue Lakes: An atmospheric river is bringing heavy rains and wind expected through Thursday, January 5th. Scotts Creek is forecast to rise on Wednesday January 4th to 13.1 ft. by 8:00 pm PST and peak on Thursday, January 5th to 21.3 ft. by 2:00 am PST. Recent historical flood events for Scotts Creek occurred in January, 2017 and February, 2019 when peak water elevations reached 14.5 feet and 13.7 feet, respectively. Significant flooding as Scotts Valley Road and adjacent areas resulted in both those events, and officials are concerned that similar flooding is likely to occur. Residents are advised to take precautions now, and to stay alert and vigilant of your surroundings and changing conditions. Do not drive across flooded roads or around road closure signs.
