Wilmington Police have arrested a juvenile on gun and drug charges.

On December 30 at approximately 10:56 a.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 900 block of North Spruce Street when they observed a 16-year-old male acting in a suspicious manner.  Police made contact with the juvenile and following a brief investigation, recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and 16.7 grams of marijuana.  The juvenile was taken into custody without incident.

The 16-year-old was charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm while also in Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – 2 Counts
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of Marijuana
