INCIDENT: Felony Warrant Arrest and PC 29800(a)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: Smoke Tree Avenue/Civic Center Drive, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): James Santiful III, 32-Year-Old Resident of Twentynine Palms
Winter Loring, 20-Year-Old Resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, while on proactive patrol, Deputy L. Gonzalez conducted a vehicle check in the area of Smoke Tree Avenue and Civic Center Drive, in the city of Twentynine Palms.
The vehicle was occupied by two subjects, identified as Winter Loring and James Santiful III. Loring was found to have a no bail felony warrant for Penal Code 211- Robbery and Santiful was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. Santiful is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
Loring was arrested for her outstanding felony warrant for robbery. Santiful was arrested for PC 29800(a)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm and PC 30305(a)(1) Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Both Loring and Santiful were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. Loring is being held on a no bail warrant and Santiful is being held in lieu of $130,000 bond.
