Police Seek Help in Identifying Burglary into Auto Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a burglary into a vehicle on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., Police responded to Garden Street near NJ Railroad Avenue on a call of a burglary into a black 2021 Dodge Ram. Surveillance footage obtained by Police shows the suspect picking up rocks and throwing them at the victim’s back driver-side window. Once the window was broken, the suspect is seen stealing the victim’s JBL Boombox speaker, valued at $600.00, which was inside the vehicle. The suspect then fled on foot, heading westbound on Garden Street.
Detectives investigating this incident request the public’s help in identifying the suspect, who is described as wearing a black, puffy hooded jacket, black sweatpants with white stripes on each side, and white sneakers.
