Storm Impact Update for Thursday PM
Good evening, Rohnert Park – We’d like to let you know that overall we’ve had little impact from the recent storms. Thanks to those who have stayed off the roads when you can, and for driving safely. We had no injuries from traffic collisions today – good news for sure!
Rohnert Park Expressway West remains closed from Rancho Verde to Stony Point. Although the water recedes at times, it also backs up at times and makes the opening and closing a logistical challenge. Please use an alternate route. Please do not drive through standing water.
We’d like to offer kudos and thanks to our Public Works staff, who have done a fabulous job monitoring the city and clearing debris and trees from the roadways, creek paths and drains.
The tents at the Roberts Lake Encampment have mostly held up, and when needed we can assist residents from there to a warming center in Santa Rosa. The site has drained well.
We have not opened our Emergency Operations Center, but are ready to do so should the need arise.
We will let you know if and when we hear of anything urgent that you should know about, such as road closures or known hazards.
Have a good evening and be safe.
