Due to the large accumulation of snow from the last snowfall the Sleepy Eye Police Department did not issue citations as usual, 24 hours after the city plows have gone through the residential streets, following the City of Sleepy Eye Snow Removal Ordinance. Instead, it was approved to give citizens extra opportunity over the weekend to move vehicles. Citations for vehicles that have not been moved properly, which includes moving your vehicle allowing enough space for the plows to clear the street where a vehicle was initially snowed in, will be issued on Sunday January 8th to vehicles in violation.
