SHERIFF LEVON ALLEN Cracks Down On Inmate On Inmate Assaults At County Jail 
On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, a cell phone video of inmates jumping and assaulting another inmate was brought to the attention of SHERIFF LEVON ALLEN by the victim’s mother. The inmate using the cell phone to record was careful not to show the faces of the inmates involved.
SHERIFF ALLEN immediately ordered a shake-down and an investigation into the assault. Within 48 hours, the cell phone was located and two of the inmates were positively identified as Beau Mosely and Derrick Thrash. Both inmates have been charged with Aggravated Battery and Possession of Prohibited Items and the investigation to identify other inmates involved is ongoing.
SHERIFF ALLEN stated that law and order will be restored to the Clayton County jail not just for the safety of employees, but for the safety of inmates as well.
