Flood Advisory until 06:45PM Saturday

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central California and northern California, including the following counties, in central California, Monterey and San Benito. In northern California, Santa Cruz.

* WHEN...Until 645 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 442 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.1 and 0.2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salinas, Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Hollister, Seaside, Monterey, Marina, Jamesburg, Tassajara Hot Springs, Big Sur Village, Arroyo Seco, Corralitos, Soledad, Greenfield, Pacific Grove, Scotts Valley, Capitola, Live Oak, Gonzales and Carmel-By-The-Sea. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
