Alert

Flood Watch

This is an alert from your San Benito County Sheriff’s Office to expect urban and small stream flooding of the following areas by tomorrow morning: Pacheco Creek to include Dunneville/4 Corners, San Felipe Rd from CA 156 to the county line, Lovers Lane, Frye Lane, portions of Shore Rd from San Felipe Rd to Frazier Lake Rd, and Frazier Lake Rd. Tres Pinos Creek especially in the area of Bolado Road at the creek crossing. Also expect the San Benito River to rise significantly. We still continue to see downed trees and expect power lines to be impacted. PG&E is delivering numerous generators to our OES Office for those who have medical needs for power in case of extended power loss. PG&E is planning for a Category 5 response (their highest threat level). The last storm moved faster than anticipated so the effects on our county were not AS severe as expected. Do not let that make you complacent. Heed these warnings and take them seriously. We also ask our community to abstain from off-road activities in the San Benito River. Not only is it ALWAYS illegal, the conditions make it even more dangerous. Also do not enter standing or moving water. Our resources will be stretched very thin and our response will most certainly be delayed. Be smart and stay safe.

Instructions:

Expect flooding in the areas surrounding the Pacheco Creek, San Benito River, and Tres Pinos Creek by tomorrow morning. Take appropriate action now.
