SUMMARY:
On Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10:45pm, Deputy J. Guzman stopped the driver of a 2000 Ford truck on Old Woman Springs Road for California Vehicle Code violations.
The driver of the vehicle, Jason Rosencrans, refused to roll down the window of the vehicle or open the door. Deputy Guzman could see a silver revolver on the passenger seat of the vehicle within arms-reach of Rosencrans.
Deputies responded to assist and gained access to the passenger side of the vehicle to get the gun while Deputy Guzman continued talking with Rosencrans. Deputies were finally able to get Rosencrans out of the vehicle, and a strong odor of alcohol emitted from Rosencrans' breath. As deputies walked him to the patrol vehicle, he began kicking at deputies. Once inside the patrol vehicle, he started kicking the door of the vehicle, causing approximately $400 in damage.
The gun was found to be loaded and not registered to Rosencrans. Justin Rosencrans was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for carrying a loaded firearm, vandalism, resisting arrest and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was later released on bail.
