Storm Update January 9, 2023 - Noon

Storm Response Recap as of January 9. 2023 at Noon

The National Weather Service has forecasted thunderstorms on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 with heavy rain at times. Rain is expected off and on through next Sunday, January 15.

The Town reactivated the Emergency Operation Center on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm and will remain open due to adverse weather and the traffic impacts on Page Mill Road. Be aware of changing road conditions due to downed trees, mudslides and road closures. Avoid all unnecessary travel. NEVER drive through flooded roadways and remember that obstacles in the roadway are difficult to see at night. Soils remain saturated, which means a high risk of flooding, falling trees, and multiple shallow mud and rock slides.

Power outages due to downed trees or wind remain a possibility throughout the day. Staff are prepared to respond as needed to incidents caused by this storm; please be patient as they will be balancing emergency response needs. The Town recommends that you stay off the roads as much as possible. For the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, click here

Staff is monitoring the situation and will provide updated information as it is received.

Page Mill Road Lane Closure Update

Page Mill Road, north of Paseo del Robles Road and Moon Lane, is operating on single lane traffic with temporary signal lights due to a sinkhole event. Emergency repair work will take place when we have a break in the weather. Prior to any closures, we will be sure to alert residents who will be impacted and provide detour information. Please sign up to receive alerts from the Town.  Expect delays and reduce your speed. Town staff intends to communicate with partnering public safety agencies, neighboring jurisdictions, and the public.

Current Status

All roads are currently open, but due to the saturated soils and the continuing rain, please be mindful that trees may still fall. Additionally, please avoid using Los Altos Hills Pathways and Open Spaces as the ground is heavily saturated, and there is an increased risk of debris, tree, and limbs falling. Edith Park and Purissima Park Baseball Fields are currently closed to the public.
