Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Burglary Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with locating the below-pictured suspect, who stole credit cards from a vehicle and attempted to use them at several stores in the Ironbound section of Newark on January 4, 2023. 
 
Police responded to a call about the burglary, which occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Avenue P. The suspect opened the passenger door of the victim’s vehicle and took credit and debit cards from a wallet. Later that day, the suspect was captured on surveillance video attempting to use the victim’s credit card in stores on Ferry Street. 
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695- 8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
