Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Anthony “Mario” Williams, 29, of Newark, in connection with a shooting that occurred on Friday, December 23, 2022.
 
At approximately 10:10 p.m., a woman was shot at in the 100 block of South 9th Street by a man she knows. No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.
 
Detectives investigating this incident have identified Anthony “Mario” Williams as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of aggravated assault.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Anthony “Mario” Williams to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
