COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS WORKING TO KEEP ROADS CLEAR WHILE DELIVERING ANOTHER 19 TONS OF SAND & BAGS TO 12 LOCATIONS AROUND THE COUNTY
County and City road crews are working around the clock to keep roadways open and sandbag locations stocked. To date, nearly 200 tons of sand has been deployed.
Current County and City Road impacts are:
- Baldwin Lane to SR26 to Berkesey, Valley Springs CA – undetermined date
- White Road @ SR26 Valley Springs CA – undetermined date
- Salt Springs Valley Road, Copperopolis, CA - undetermined date
- Jesus Maria between Hawver and Whiskey Slide Rds., Mountain Ranch CA – undermined date
- Hunt Road, Valley Springs, CA (Partial Closure)
- Gwin Mine Road, Paloma, CA (Partial Closure)
PG&E’s power restoration efforts are still underway as a result of the high winds and flooding. Approximately 4,600 customers are without power following restoration efforts last night primarily in the Valley Springs, Mountain Ranch, and Arnold areas. There are additional outages scattered throughout the County. For more information visit:

The County and City still want to remind businesses and residents that those that have experienced damages from winter storms and flooding events, to please report that information to the online damage assessment reporting portal links below. It is extremely important that owners and renters of residential and commercial properties document and report damages/costs they have incurred. This includes damage to private roads, culverts, retaining walls, etc. The County and City will also be sending out mailers to those who may have been impact
Also, residents of Calaveras County could possibly qualify for assessed tax value relief due to calamity damage caused by storm damage and flooding. Please contact the Calaveras County Assessor’s Office at 209-754-6356 for more information.
