Advisory

PLANNED ROAD CLOSURE ON ST. MARY’S ROAD IN LAFAYETTE ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 12th.

ROAD CLOSURE ON ST. MARY’S ROAD IN LAFAYETTE ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 12th.

Post Date: 01/10/2023 1:46 PM
On Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the City of Lafayette will be closing a segment of St. Mary’s Road in both directions for emergency roadwork.

Due to recent storm damage to a segment of the shoulder on the southbound side of St. Mary’s Road (300’ south of Driftwood Drive), the City’s contractor will perform interim roadway embankment stabilization to address a mudslide adjacent to St. Mary's Road.
The roadway shoulder in the area to be stabilized is currently coned off due to soil erosion, and is being inspected daily.
During the roadwork on Thursday, St. Mary’s Road will be closed in both directions, with detours in place at Rheem Blvd and Rohrer Drive.
Access will be permitted to properties between Rheem Blvd and Rohrer Drive, however, it will not be possible to drive through the construction area (just south of Driftwood Drive).

Please plan accordingly for delays/detours on Thursday 1/12/23, especially during the afternoon school-pickup. Travel delays should be expected.

County Connection Bus Route 626 will serve all stops on Thursday, with the exception of those at Cattle Chute Road, St. Mary’s College, and Driftwood Drive.
