The 90 days prior to the crime plan, 42 homicides occurred in Oakland. In the 60 days following the rollout, homicides decreased by 45%. Shootings also decreased 12% over the same 90-day period, and overall violent crime decreased by 12%.

OPD continues to work closely with City leaders, community organizations, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, and our local and federal law enforcement partners, focusing our efforts to reduce violent crime and hold those accountable.
