SEARCH CONTINUES SEARCHING FOR MISSING CYRIL GIRL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CYRIL, Okla. (January 11, 2023) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) continues working with law enforcement partners and volunteers in the search for a missing Cyril girl. The investigation began yesterday at 2 p.m. when a postal carrier reported finding Athena Brownfield's five-year-old sister near her home at 225 W. Nebraska. The postal carrier reported the incident to the Cyril Police Department and that was when it was discovered Athena, 4, was missing. 

Anyone with a residence or business in Cyril that has a video doorbell camera is encouraged to come the the Family LIfe Church and notifying law enforcement. Additionally, community members are encouraged to search their own property for Athena. Please do not self deploy to search anything other than your own property. If you want to assist in the search effort, please come to the Command Post at Family Life Church.

Numerous agencies are assisting with this investigation including Cyril Police Department, Cyril Fire Department, Verden Police Department, Anadarko Police Department, Apache Police Department, Fletcher Police Department, Caddo County Sheriff's Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) and numerous volunteer organizations with search and rescue dogs.
