Lieutenant Chris Taylor with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 36-year-old Jason Darryl Causby with felonious Possession of Firearm by Felon. A magistrate issued Causby a $25,000 secured bond.

On January 4^th, 2023, Lieutenant Taylor and Community Supervision Officers searched Causby’s residence. The search turned up a handgun. Causby is a convicted felon and is prohibited by NC Law from possessing a firearm.
