Arrest Made: Terrorist Threats, Possession of Methamphetamine
On January 11, 2023, at 6:57 PM, officers were dispatched to John Maroot Park located at 1000 Van Dorsten Avenue for a disturbance. A 62-year-old male victim told officers he was in an argument with a subject named Marshall Scott. The victim stated during the argument, Scott poured gasoline on the tent he was in, and threatened to light it on fire. Marshall Scott was contacted in the park carrying a gas can and lighter. Scott was arrested, and a subsequent search revealed he was in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. Scott was booked into the Cocoran Police Department Jail for the charges of terrorist threats and possession of a controlled substance. He was later transported and booked into the Kings County Jail where his bail was set at $100,000.00.
