Police Seek the Public’s Help in Identifying Vehicle Burglary Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with the burglary into six vehicles that occurred on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
 
At approximately 2:40 a.m., the suspect climbed the fence of a business in the 500 block of 18th Avenue and entered six vehicles parked in the lot. The suspect stole multiple items from the vehicle by tossing them over the fence and climbing over to exit the property. The stolen items included clothing, shoes, bed sheets, cookware, baby clothing, and two purses.
 
Detectives investigating this incident obtained surveillance footage of the suspect. He is described as Black, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, a white and black sneaker on the right foot, and an all-black sneaker on the left foot.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
