Newark Office of Emergency Management Offers Free Community Emergency Response Team Training 
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé and Office of Emergency Management Coordinator John Sharpe James announce that free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is available to Newark residents beginning Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
The free CERT training is available to adults interested in gaining basic disaster response skills and those having a keen willingness to volunteer during a disaster.
Participants will gain insights into the following areas:
- Disaster Preparedness
- CERT Organizational Principles
- Disaster Medical Operations
- Disaster Psychology
- Fire Safety and Utility Controls
- Light Search and Rescue
- CERT and Terrorism Prep
- Disaster Simulation
The free nine-session CERT training is offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Wednesday, beginning on February 22, 2023, at 480 Clinton Avenue, 3rd Floor.
