Winter Storm Warning until 06:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 11 inches, heaviest north of a line from Arapahoe to Grand Island to York. Northwest winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, east central and south central Nebraska.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will worsen through the remainder of the day and into this evening. Lingering travel impacts into at least Thursday morning are likely.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow rates of one to two inches per hour are expected this afternoon into early evening for areas along and north of Highway 6. Snow rates will decrease substantially overnight, but increasing north to northwest winds gusting 30 to 35 MPH will cause blowing and drifting snow.
