INCIDENT: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: White Feather Road and Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree
SUSPECT(S): Paul Holinaty, 33-year-old Male Resident of Desert Hot Springs
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Thursday, January 19, 2023, at approximately 1:48 p.m., Deputies J. Lopez and G. Rose conducted an investigative vehicle check at White Feather Road and Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. Deputies observed a male standing next to a motorcycle parked in a bus stop in front of the Joshua Tree Courthouse. The motorcycle was partially stripped, had a punched ignition, and no license plate. Deputies contacted the male, identified as Paul Holinaty, who is on Post Release Community Supervision for felony domestic violence.
Through investigation, deputies learned the motorcycle was recently stolen out of Desert Hot Springs. Holinaty was also in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Deputies placed Holinaty under arrest for PC496d(A)-Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, H&S11377(a)-Possession of a Controlled Substance, and H&S11364(a)-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into Morongo Basin Jail and is being held in lieu of $55,000.01 bail.
