On Friday, January 20, 2023 at approximately 1851 hours, the Readington Township Police were dispatched to the area of County Rt. 620 and Roosevelt Rd. for a report of an  intoxicated driver. Police checked the area and observed the described vehicle traveling north on County Route 523, failing to maintain its lane. Thomas A. Apostol out of Whitehouse Station had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath and failed the officers field sobriety tests. Apostol was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and issued a summoms for DWI, Careless Driving, Failure To Maintain Lane and Possession Of an Open Container in a vehicle. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
