Incident: Subject Arrested for Possession of a Concealed and Loaded Non-Serialized Handgun

Suspects: Jeremy Brown (22-year-old, Windsor Resident)
Charges: 25850(c)(6) PC- Possessing a Non-Serialized Loaded Firearm
25850(a) PC- Carrying a Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle
25400(a)(1) PC-Carrying a concealed firearm.
On 01/20/2023 at approximately 9:11 PM, a Petaluma Officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle weaving in and out of lanes of traffic on US Highway 101 South. Believing the driver may be intoxicated, a traffic enforcement stop was conducted.
The officer could smell an odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, which gave the officer probable cause to search the vehicle for burnt marijuana in conjunction with his DUI investigation.
During a search of the vehicle, a loaded, non-serialized handgun, otherwise known as a “Ghost Gun”, was located unsecured under the driver’s seat. The officer also located an amount of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, Jeremy Brown was subsequently arrested for the above listed charges. He was later transported to the Sonoma County Jail without incident.
