On Sunday, January 22, 2023 at approximately 1000 hours, the Readington Township Police stopped Laurie Grimes on Old Highway 28 for failure to maintain lane. While the officer was speaking with Grimes he smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath. Grimes failed the officers field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Grimes was issued a motor vehicle summons for DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
