IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives arrest two juveniles for their role in a shooting investigation.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Aggravated Assault detectives identified and later arrested two juvenile males, 17-year-old and 15-year-old, for their alleged involvement in the Wysong Dr. shooting investigation.
On Thursday, January 5, 2023, just after 8:00 p.m., IMPD East District officers were dispatched to 8041 Wysong Dr. to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old juvenile female inside this location with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital in stable condition.
IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives arrived on scene to further the investigation. Within minutes, detectives were able to identify two juvenile males as the suspects in this case. Sunday, afternoon, both juveniles were located and taken into custody without further incident. Preliminary information suggests the juveniles were possibly playing with a firearm before the shooting incident occurred.
The 17-years-old was arrested for aggravated battery, domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, criminal recklessness, and dangerous possession of a firearm. The15-year-old was arrested for dangerous possession of a firearm.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) will review the case and make the final charging decisions.
