WINTER WEATHER EVENT – Wednesday, January 25, 2023
A winter storm event with a mix of precipitation is expected to begin in our area Wednesday afternoon (today). The precipitation should begin as wet snow. The potential for a light coating to one inch is possible before it changes to rain. Rain will continue from Wednesday afternoon through daybreak on Thursday. Average rainfall totals are expected to be around 1 inch for the entire event.
During heavy rainfall bands, flooding of roadways and flood prone areas may take place. Do NOT attempt to drive or walk through flooded areas.
Winds on Wednesday will be 15-20 mph, with gusts to 25 mph. Winds ramp up Thursday to 20-25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph. Winds may cause down tree limbs, resulting in power outages.
