Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle traffic crash on 1-25-23 at 9:08am. This crash occurred on Dailey Rd. north of Dunning St. in Cass County's Jefferson Township. The investigation showed that a vehicle driven by Jennifer Owen (42yrs of Dowagiac, MI) lost control on an icy roadway. Her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Ms. Owen was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital via PrideCare Ambulance for injuries from the crash. Assisting on scene were the Cassopolis Area Fire Department and PrideCare Ambulance. Ms. Owen was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
