Janesville Police Department Announces Promotions
The Janesville Police Department announces the promotions of Sergeant Rogelio Carrasco, Detective Eric Grahn, Detective Erin Johnson, School Resource Officer Chad Woodman and School Resource Officer Benito Rocha.
On January 4, 2023, the City of Janesville Police and Fire Commission approved the following promotions.
Officer Rogelio V. Carrasco was promoted to the rank of Sergeant effective January 30, 2023. Sergeant Carrasco is an eight-year veteran of the Janesville Police Department. He holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Blackhawk Technical College. Sergeant Carrasco has experience in the following areas: Patrol Officer, Domestic Violence Intervention (DVI) Team Member, Police Explorer Post 500 Advisor, Mobile Field Force Team, Field Training Officer.
Officer Eric E. Grahn was promoted to the rank of Detective effective January 5, 2023. Detective Grahn is a sixteen-year employee of the Janesville Police Department. He holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Blackhawk Technical College. Detective Grahn has experience in the following areas: Patrol Officer, Bike Officer, SWAT Operator/Assistant Team Leader, Field Training Officer, Street Crimes Unit, US Marshall Service Task Force, Instructor for Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC), and School Resource Officer.
Officer Erin E. Johnson was promoted to the rank of Detective effective February 6, 2023. Detective Johnson is a six-year employee of the Janesville Police Department. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from University of Wisconsin Platteville. Detective Johnson has experience in the following areas: Patrol Officer, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Member, Peer Support Team Member, Cadet Advisor, and she is a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Board Member.
Officer Chad L. Woodman was promoted to the rank of School Resource Officer effective January 5, 2023. School Resource Officer Woodman is a 22-year employee of the Janesville Police Department. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration from Upper Iowa University and a Master of Science degree in Counseling for Clinical Mental Health from University of Wisconsin Whitewater. School Resource Officer Woodman has experience in the following areas: Patrol Officer, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Member, Crisis Negotiator, Motorcycle Officer, Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) Member, Peer Support, SWAT Sniper Team Leader, Field Training Officer, Death Recovery or Prison (DROP) Program, Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Program, Threat Liaison Coordinator.
Officer Benito E. Rocha was promoted to the rank of School Resource Officer effective January 5, 2023. School Resource Officer Rocha is a thirteen-year employee of the Janesville Police Department. He holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Gateway Technical College. School Resource Officer Rocha has experience in the following areas: Patrol Officer, Bicycle Officer, Field Training Officer, and he is Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish.
Sergeant Rogelio Carrasco, Detective Eric Grahn, Detective Erin Johnson, School Resource Officer Chad Woodman, and School Resource Officer Benito Rocha were honored in a promotion ceremony at City Hall on January 25, 2022.
