On January 26th at 5:45 AM, Amarillo Police officers were called to the 4100 block of south Travis Street on gunshots heard in the area. Officers located a male laying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. 24-year-old Markell Damarion Toombs-Reed was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The APD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made at this time.
