Wayne County Travel Advisory (Level I ) will expire at 12:00 P.M.-1/26/2023

A Travel Advisory (level I), Issued for Wayne County Roadways and The Streets of The City of Richmond and The Town of Centerville Due to Accumulating Snowfall Causing Icy/snow-Covered Roadways Making Travel Hazardous, Will Be Allowed to Expire.

The Travel Advisory took effect at 12:00 AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 and Will Expire today, Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM. This Advisory applied to all roads maintained by Wayne County Highway Department and the Street Departments of City of Richmond and the Town of Centerville.

This Travel Advisory was issued to warn those who must travel on Wayne County roadways and City Streets to use extreme caution due to heavy snowfall amounts and blowing and drifting snow causing widespread snow-covered roadways and hazardous travel conditions.

Instructions:

If you must drive during this winter season, remain alert and use caution as you may encounter slick patches on roads and rapidly changing road conditions.  Allow extra time to get to your destination, reduce your speed and increase the following distance from the vehicle ahead.  Avoid sudden changes in speed and apply brakes and accelerator slowly and gently.
