*UPDATE*

We have a small amount of new information for the public.  Detectives were able to develop a more definitive timeline on this incident.  We spoke with the department of agriculture and were advised that it may not have been as widespread as originally thought.  We wanted to get out the information to the public as quickly as possible so as to keep everyone aware and as safe as possible.  As such, we were working with very limited information.  

Currently we've discovered there were three incidents confirmed with the individual who located the blades.  These occurred over the course of the past month and were reported to our department and the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday the 24th.  We have been searching for security videos at various businesses.  As soon as we locate anything that may help with developing a suspect we will be sure to advise the community.  In the meantime, we urge the public to remain vigilant and take the extra second to inspect the pump handle before grabbing it.  This is a very disturbing incident and we are devoting all of the resources available to us to figure out who is responsible and hold them accountable.
