Effective February 1, 2023, Sgt. William Rapp will retire from the Gloucester Township Police Department after 25 years of honorable service as a full time Gloucester Township Police Officer. Sgt. Rapp was hired as a Gloucester Township Police Officer on January 26, 1998. Sgt. Rapp served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, K-9 Handler of K-9 “Solo”, and Shift Investigator. He was appointed a Detective on September 1, 2010 and served in the Intelligence Services Unit, Special Investigations Unit, and Retail Theft Unit. He was promoted to Sergeant of Police on September 16, 2019, and where he served as a Patrol Deputy Platoon Commander. In 2016 he was awarded the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Officer of the Year.
We are grateful for Sgt. Rapp’s dedicated service to the Gloucester Township Police Department and the community, and we wish Bill a long and happy retirement!
