Incident Summary
On Friday, January 27 2023, at approximately 12:23 am, personnel from the Petaluma Police Department were dispatched to the area of Casa Grande Rd at Ely Blvd S for a reported traffic collision. Officers arrived on scene and observed a lime green Lamborghini overturned and fully engulfed in flames. It was reported that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control at the roundabout, and collided into multiple parked vehicles. The collision caused major damage to the parked vehicles. Officers contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Michael Ladeck. Ladeck suffered minor injuries. Ladeck displayed objective signs of alcohol impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. Ladeck was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons and later to Sonoma County Jail.
The Petaluma Police Department has been committed to increasing traffic safety and especially reducing the number of alcohol-related collisions. Petaluma Police advise motorist to plan ahead if you’re going to go out and drink alcohol, designate a sober driver or share a ride. Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
