Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with an armed business robbery that occurred on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Police responded to a business located in the 700 block of South Orange Avenue on a call of a robbery. The suspect entered the business and demanded cash at gunpoint. The suspect fled with approximately $3,000.00 in cash, heading northbound on Cedar Avenue. He is described as a black male, slim build wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing, with tan boots.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
