PC 496: Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: Lucerne Valley Self Storage, 31420 State Hwy 18 in Lucerne Valley
SUSPECT: Daniel Alexander, 32 years-old, resident of Lucerne Valley
SUMMARY: On Monday, January 23, 2023, at 1:24 p.m., deputies responded to Lucerne Valley Self Storage regarding a vehicle stolen from the secured facility. Unknown suspect(s) cut the fencing to the storage facility and stole a red 2006 Ford F350 truck, with Nevada license plates. The suspect(s) then drove the vehicle through the gate of the facility and left in an unknown direction.
On Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:05 p.m., Deputies J. Guzman and A. Schwingel located the vehicle near Powerline Road and Barstow Road in Lucerne Valley. With the assistance of the California Highway Patrol Aviation Division (H80) deputies were able to pursue the driver, later identified as Daniel Alexander. Alexander eventually lost control of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. He was taken into custody without incident after a short foot pursuit.
Daniel Alexander was booked at High Desert Detention Center for possession of stolen property.
